Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti says that Dominic Calvert-Lewin can become 'one of the best strikers in Europe'.

New Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin can become 'one of the best strikers in Europe'.

The 22-year-old scored twice against Newcastle United on Saturday to make it three goals in the two matches since Ancelotti officially took charge of the Toffees.

Calvert-Lewin "has all of the qualities to be a top striker" on the European stage, according to the Italian, who lavished praise on the Englishman following the clash at St James' Park.

"He is a fantastic striker in my opinion - fantastic with the head, clever in the box, and sharp. But he's young and for this reason he has to improve. He is a humble guy and he doesn't talk a lot," Ancelotti told reporters.

"I think he is going to be at the top in England and in Europe. He has all the qualities to be a top striker."

Calvert-Lewin has now scored 10 times in 22 appearances for Everton during the 2019-20 campaign.
