Phil Jagielka says that Everton is "drastically different" under new manager Roberto Martinez.

Everton captain Phil Jagielka has revealed that life at the club is "drastically different" under new manager Roberto Martinez.

With old boss David Moyes taking up the reins at Manchester United this summer, the Toffees raided Wigan Athletic to bring Martinez to Goodison Park.

Jagielka admits that the players are having to adapt to a different style of football during their pre-season.

"This pre-season has been drastically different," Jagielka told the Daily Star.

"Normally you're working a lot harder off the ball - you're running around and the balls rarely come out.

"But the new manager has different views. We've got to start to adapt now to the way he wants us to play."

Martinez has already added former Wigan players Arouna Kone, Joel Robles and Antolin Alcaraz to his ranks, and has snapped up Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu on a season-long loan.
