Ross Barkley reveals his disappointment to be sidelined for Everton's opener

Ross Barkley tweets his disappointment as the England midfielder sits out Everton's season opener with a leg injury.

Ross Barkley is "gutted" to be missing Everton's opening game of the Premier League season against Leicester City today.

The 20-year-old picked up a leg injury in training on Friday and left the club's training ground wearing a brace.

The England international reportedly faces a six week layoff, though his focus today is on the KP Stadium.

Roberto Martinez has had a boost in the shape of Romelu Lukaku, however, who starts for Everton.
