Marouane Fellaini scored the first of two goals as Everton beat ten-man Bolton at the Reebok Stadium this afternoon.
Ivan Klasnic came closest for the home side in the first half, forcing Everton keeper Tim Howard into action. Minutes later, Wanderers defender David Wheater was dismissed for a lunge on Everton winger Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.
The Russia international was then instrumental in giving the visitors the lead after the break, fizzing the ball into Fellaini – who found the back of the net – after a string of passes.
With less than 15 minutes to go, the Toffees were able to put the game out of reach. Tim Cahill fired the ball across the face of goal and into the path of substitute Apostolos Vellios, who beat Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.
