Nolito hat-trick downs Everton

Everton slip to a 3-1 reverse against Celta Vigo thanks to Nolito's hat-trick.

Everton have been beaten 3-1 by Celta Vigo in a pre-season friendly at Tranmere Rovers' Prenton Park.

The Blues took the lead when Aiden McGeady stuck away a cross after Steven Naismith had failed to control the centre inside the first 10 minutes, but the Spanish side fought back with a hat-trick from Nolito.

The former Benfica player opened his account for the evening when he side-footed home a deep cross inside the area to equalise on 18 minutes.

Nolito had his second of the evening moments later when he robbed John Stones of possession before racing through to nonchalantly chip over Tim Howard.

The 27-year-old wrapped up his first-half trio of strikes on 34 minutes when he curled an effort beyond Howard via a deflection off Stones.
