Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly received a boost in their pursuit of Idrissa Gueye as the midfielder has asked to leave Everton.

Idrissa Gueye has been asking to leave Everton for Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report.

The Senegal international is a rumoured £21.5m target for the French champions after starring for the Toffees across his three years at Goodison Park.

Everton are reluctant to sell for anything less than £35m, but the Daily Mail claims that Gueye could force his exit.

The report indicates that the 29-year-old has written a letter to his employers, but he has fallen short of handing in a transfer request.

PSG have other targets in mind, with Zenit St Petersburg's Leandro Paredes and Abdoulaye Doucoure of Watford also on their shortlist.
