Everton's Johnny Heitinga hints that he is keen to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

Everton defender Johnny Heitinga has conceded that the time may be right for him to leave the club.

The Netherlands international found starting opportunities hard to come by last season and as a result he recently turned down the club's offer to his extend his contract that is due to expire next year.

Having been the subject of interest from Fenerbahce 12 months ago, the 29-year-old has called upon the Turkish outfit to make another bid.

"I don't want to extend my contract with [Everton]. I have played in Spain and England, so maybe it's time for somewhere else," The Mirror quotes him as saying.

"If Fenerbahce come in for me once more, they are an option. I had been voted player of the season, but David Moyes left me on the bench.

"I asked myself – what's going on here? There is a possibility I could stay, as I like the city. Nobody else has come in for me yet, but I still want to go to another foreign club."

Heitinga joined the Toffees from Atletico Madrid back in 2009.
