Everton boss Roberto Martinez wants two more attacking players

Everton boss Roberto Martinez reveals that he is hoping to sign two attacking players before transfer deadline day.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that he is hoping to sign two attacking players before the end of the transfer window.

The Toffees have brought in four new players so far this summer for a combined cost of around £6.5m.

Ramiro Funes Mori and Leandro Rodriguez are expected to join the club from River Plate in the coming days, but Martinez is eager to boost his squad even further ahead of the transfer deadline.

"There are going to be a lot of names, but what I can tell you is the next two positions will be in the attacking positions. They will be attacking options in different positions," he is quoted as saying by the club's official website.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright confirmed on Thursday that the club had rejected a transfer request from John Stones, who has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League champions Chelsea.
