Sunday's Eredivisie predictions including Fortuna Sittard vs. PSV Eindhoven

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Eredivisie fixtures, including Fortuna Sittard vs. PSV Eindhoven.

Ajax vs. Almere City (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Ajax play host to Almere City on Sunday afternoon looking for the win that may be enough to secure fifth position in the Eredivisie standings.

Meanwhile, the visitors head to Amsterdam looking to end their outstanding campaign on a high having already avoided relegation back to the second tier.

We say: Ajax 3-1 Almere City

While Almere City have done an effective job of staying up, they are facing an Ajax side that are motivated to finish strongly. With that in mind, we expect the hosts to extend their unbeaten run to four matches with a convincing victory.

Excelsior vs. Heracles (Sunday, 1.30pm)

With top-flight survival on the line, SBV Excelsior welcome Heracles to Van Donge & De Roo Stadion on Sunday in round 33 of the 2023-24 Eredivisie campaign.

Heracles, meanwhile, head to Rotterdam this weekend aiming to snap a three-game losing streak and all but secure their place in the top tier of Dutch football for next season.

We say: SBV Excelsior 1-1 Heracles

There is little to choose between the sides and this weekend's clash could easily swing either way. That said, we are backing a share of the spoils with honours even at the end of the 90 minutes.

FC Twente vs. Volendam (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Two sides operating at opposing ends of the Eredivisie table come together on Sunday afternoon as Champions League-hunting FC Twente take on already relegated FC Volendam at De Grolsch Veste.

While the visitors' relegation has been confirmed, the hosts are still very much battling to finish in the top three and secure Champions League qualification.

We say: FC Twente 3-0 FC Volendam

The hosts have been extremely successful in this matchup in recent times, including a 3-0 win in this fixture last season, and we fancy them to impose their superiority once again here.

Utrecht vs. Sparta (Sunday, 1.30pm)

FC Utrecht will be aiming to pick up a fifth win in six matches when they welcome Sparta Rotterdam to Stadion Galgenwaard on Sunday afternoon.

Sparta, meanwhile, make the journey this weekend seeking to get back on track having seen their two-game winning streak come to an end last time out.

We say: FC Utrecht 2-1 Sparta Rotterdam

Both teams have had relatively impressive campaigns and will be confident of finishing strongly. That said, we fancy Utrecht to make home advantage count and emerge victorious come the end of the 90 minutes.

Sittard vs. PSV (Sunday, 1.30pm)

With the Dutch crown already secured, PSV Eindhoven will look to break the 90-point mark in the Eredivisie when they make the trip to Fortuna Sittard on Sunday afternoon.

PSV were convincing winners over Sparta Rotterdam last time out, whereas a struggling Fortuna side played out a goalless draw with Go Ahead Eagles on home soil.

We say: Fortuna Sittard 0-3 PSV Eindhoven

Having dropped points on just three occasions in 16 Eredivisie away matches this term, we are expecting PSV to breeze past a confidence-sapped Fortuna Sittard side.

The hosts are without their leading marksman, meaning that their attacking deficiencies are set to worsen this weekend, likely leading to a heavy defeat.

Go Ahead Eagles vs. AZ (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Two teams battling to secure European football in the Eredivisie will meet on Sunday as Go Ahead Eagles hosts AZ Alkmaar.

While they are fighting to be involved in different competitions, they are both going down to the wire to secure them.

We say: Go Ahead Eagles 1-2 AZ Alkmaar

Go Ahead Eagles have hit a poor patch of form at the wrong time in the season, and turning that around in a game of this magnitude will be tough.

AZ Alkmaar are looking to earn a third-place finish and given their recent strong form there is a good chance they will go one step closer this weekend.

Nijmegen vs. Feyenoord (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Two teams whose fates have already been sealed clash on Sunday afternoon at the Goffertstadion in the penultimate matchday of the Eredivisie season.

NEC Nijmegen have guaranteed themselves a place in the top six, ensuring they earn a spot in the qualification playoffs for a chance to compete in Europe next season, and Feyenoord are unable to move up or down the table with a second-place finish ensured.

We say: NEC 1-3 Feyenoord

While NEC are still fighting for a joint-best fifth-placed finish in the league and Feyenoord's second place is already guaranteed, Slot will be looking to extend his side's unbeaten run into the end of the season, and we expect the visitor to comfortably win this one.

RKC Waalwijk vs. PEC Zwolle (Sunday, 1.30pm)

It is a crucial match as far as the bottom of the Eredivisie is concerned this Sunday as RKC Waalwijk looks to secure their survival in the top flight when hosting PEC Zwolle.

Three points could guarantee safety for the home side depending on other results, placing plenty of pressure on this particular fixture.

We say: RKC Waalwijk 2-0 PEC Zwolle

RKC Waalwijk might be the underdogs heading into this fixture, but with so much on the line, they will be pushing hard to get a positive result this weekend.

The hosts have been in good form recently, and that alone could be the difference-maker in this game.

Heerenveen vs. Vitesse (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Heerenveen will attempt to keep their hopes of securing European football alive on Sunday in a must-win game against Vitesse, who have already been relegated.

While the hosts will rely on other teams slipping up, they must secure three points if they want to finish in the top eight in the Eredivisie this season.

We say: Heerenveen 2-0 Vitesse

Heerenveen might have been struggling lately, but considering they have the chance to earn European football next season there is enough on the line to motivate them here.

The visitors have had a difficult season, and given that they are already relegated the hosts will see this as an ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways.
