Giuseppe Rossi "can't wait" to start playing

Giuseppe Rossi says that he "can't wait" to link up with Fiorentina strikers Stevan Jovetic and Luca Toni following his move from Villarreal.

Fiorentina's new recruit Giuseppe Rossi has said that he is happy to be part of the project at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The 25-year-old joined Viola from Spanish outfit Villarreal last week, and said that he cannot wait to link up with the likes of Stevan Jovetic and Luca Toni.

"I'm happy to be at Fiorentina," Football Italia quotes the Italian international as saying. "They are the only side who came forward with facts and not just with words. That was very important to me.

"I like the Viola project, a lot. I want to be a part of it. There are many youngsters here, but also players of experience. And we all know that Fiorentina are playing the best football in Italy.

"I can't wait to start playing alongside Stevan Jovetic and Luca Toni, great players."

Rossi expects to return from injury in March.
