The hosts went in front in the 21st minute when Stefan Savic headed in powerfully from a corner.

Fernando Tissone nearly got Sampdoria level minutes later, but his effort crashed against the crossbar.

The visitors had to wait only three minutes after the restart to get on terms as Nenad Krsticic capped off a quick counter attack with an emphatic left-footed finish into the top corner.

Sampdoria took the lead in the 72nd minute through Gonzalo Rodriguez's strike, but Savic headed in again just minutes later to earn Fiorentina a share of the spoils.

The away team ended the match with 10 men as Shkodran Mustafi was shown a straight red card.
