Fulham midfielder Alexander Kacaniklic has admitted that the club should have finished higher in the Premier League table last season.

The Cottagers ended the campaign in 12th place after six defeats in their final eight matches.

"At times I thought we could go on and finish in a very good position, but for whatever reason, it wasn't to be," Kacaniklic told the club's official website.

"It was a disappointing way to end the season as, traditionally, we're a side that finishes campaigns strongly."

Kacaniklic scored four goals in 30 appearances for Fulham last term.
