Wigan Athletic earn Fulham draw

Franco Di Santo's first goal in 15 games earns Wigan Athletic a point against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Franco Di Santo's first goal in 15 games earned Wigan Athletic a point at Fulham this afternoon.

The Cottagers took the lead on 22 minutes when Giorgos Karagounis found the bottom-left corner with a stunning strike from 25 yards.

Wigan responded well to falling behind and almost levelled the scores early in the second half, but Mark Schwarzer produced a finger-tip save to deny Shaun Maloney from long range.

However, Schwarzer was beaten 19 minutes from time, as Di Santo went on a mazy run, beating Brede Hangeland and Sascha Riether before curling the ball into the top-right corner from 20 yards.

The match ended on a sour note for the Latics, when Ivan Ramis was stretched off after injuring himself in the process of tackling Dimitar Berbatov.
