Report: Fulham to hijack Aston Villa move for Bristol City defender Joe Bryan

Premier League side Fulham are believed to have made a late move for Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan from under the noses of Aston Villa.

Fulham have reportedly made a late move for Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan from under the noses of Aston Villa.

The versatile 24-year-old - who can play at left-back or in midfield - has established himself as one of the Robins' key players, but just a year remains on his contract.

On Wednesday afternoon, Bryan was reported to have undergone a medical at Villa Park after both clubs agreed a fee for the player.

According to Sky Sports News, however, the Cottagers have stepped in with a bid for Bryan, who in turn is believed to have told Villa that he would prefer a move to the Premier League.

Bryan made 48 appearances in all competitions last season and was involved in City's season-opening 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
