German football association boss Wolfgang Niersbach has confirmed that Joachim Loew will remain in charge of the national side.
It had been suggested that the 52-year-old would be relieved of his duties after failing to win Euro 2012, but he has been backed by Niersbach.
"Joachim Loew is competent, straightforward, serious. He is and remains for the DFB the ideal national team coach," Niersbach told Waz.
"We should also not forget that we are second in the world rankings and it cannot be that after every Euro 15 coaches are fired and only one stays on."
Germany have not won an international tournament in 16 years.
