Saturday's Primeira Liga predictions including Sporting Lisbon vs. Vizela

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Primeira Liga fixtures, including Sporting Lisbon vs. Vizela.

Gil Vicente vs. Portimonense (Saturday, 3.30pm)

The 2023-24 Primeira Liga season gets underway this weekend, with Gil Vicente welcoming Portimonense to the Estadio Cidade de Barcelos in Saturday's early kickoff.

Having both battled for top-flight survival throughout the previous campaign, Gil Vicente and Portimonense will be determined to avoid another relegation dogfight this term.

We say: Gil Vicente 0-0 Portimonense

Given that both Gil Vicente and Portimonense narrowly avoided relegation last term, we expect the two sides to play out a tense and cagey stalemate on the opening weekend of the new campaign.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Farense vs. Casa Pia (Saturday, 6.00pm)

Newly-promoted SC Farense welcome Casa Pia to the Algarve on the opening weekend of the Primeira Liga this Saturday.

This will be the first-ever top-flight meetings between the two clubs after remarkable rises by both in recent years.

We say: SC Farense 0-0 Casa Pia

Farense may find it difficult adjusting to life at the top again, and start the season against one of the Primeira Liga's most pragmatic outfits.

Goals were not Casa Pia's strong point last season, and not much has been done to address that over the summer, so a cagey opener could be on the cards.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Sporting Lisbon vs. Vizela (Saturday, 8.30pm)

Sporting Lisbon will begin their search for a 20th top-flight title when they entertain Vizela at Estadio Jose Alvalade on Saturday.

The 2020-21 Primeira Liga champions finished fourth last season – 13 points behind table-topping Benfica – while Vizela finished 34 points shy of Sporting in 11th place.

We say: Sporting Lisbon 3-0 Vizela

With a successful pre-season in the bank, Sporting look set to begin their 2023-24 Primeira Liga campaign with a comfortable victory over Vizela, who failed to taste victory in 11 of their 17 away league games last term.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
