Trevor Carson has completed a move to League Two side Hartlepool United.
The goalkeeper has made the switch despite the fact that he had 12 months left to run on his contract at Cheltenham Town.
For the Northern Ireland international, the transfer has allowed him to return to the North East, having spent six years on the books of Sunderland earlier in his career.
Subject to clearance from the Football League, the 27-year-old will join up with his new teammates at the end of the month.
