Tuesday's Scottish Premiership predictions including Hibernian vs. Hearts

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Scottish Premiership fixtures, including Hibernian vs. Hearts and Dundee vs. Dundee United.

Dundee vs. Dundee Utd (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

football generic

The next instalment of the Dundee and Dundee United rivalry takes place on Tuesday evening with both clubs enduring a dismal run of form in the league.

While the visitors still sit in seventh position in the Scottish Premiership standings, their hosts are down in 11th, two points above bottom spot.

We say: Dundee 1-1 Dundee United

While Dundee United will take the positives from running Celtic so close, a three-day turnaround is not ideal ahead of a derby. With that in mind, we are backing the struggling hosts to earn a deserved share of the spoils at Dens Park.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

The midweek action in the Scottish Premiership includes the Edinburgh derby between Hibernian and Hearts at Easter Road on Tuesday evening.

The great rivals in Scotland head into their clash just two places apart in the table, but with the visitors boasting a 12-point gap over their hosts.

We say: Hibernian 1-1 Hearts

It is difficult to see Hearts losing at their rivals on Tuesday, with their opponents putting in a very poor second-half display on Saturday and struggling overall since the return from the Scottish winter break.

The visitors are in great form and boast a strong record against their neighbours, but we expect the sides to cancel each other out and leave the derby with a share of the points.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Livingston vs. St Johnstone (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Livingston will be hoping to cut the gap to the top six in the Scottish Premiership when they welcome bottom-of-the-table St Johnstone to the Tony Macaroni Arena on Tuesday evening.

The hosts twice came from behind to pick up an impressive victory at the weekend, whilst the visitors saw their visit to Aberdeen postponed.

We say: Livingston 1-0 St Johnstone

With neither side being particularly clinical and creative in front of goal, it is difficult to see many goals being scored here on Tuesday.

However, with St Johnstone being on such a dreadful run of form, and Livingston heading into it with plenty of positives, the hosts should edge out their struggling opponents relatively easily if they can find their goalscoring touch as they did at the weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Ross County vs. Aberdeen (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Aberdeen will be looking to solidify their place in the top six of the Scottish Premiership when they travel to Ross County on Tuesday evening.

The hosts twice came from behind to earn a point against champions Rangers at the weekend, whilst the visitors saw their fixture with St Johnstone postponed.

We say: Ross County 1-1 Aberdeen

With the hosts in a buoyant mood following their last-gasp point against Rangers at the weekend, we can see them heading into Tuesday's clash with plenty of confidence against Aberdeen.

The visitors remain poor on their travels this season, so we can see them slipping up again in a fixture that looks likely to finish level.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

St Mirren vs. Motherwell (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

St Mirren will be hoping to cut the gap between themselves and the top six in the Scottish Premiership when they welcome Motherwell to St. Mirren Park on Tuesday evening.

The hosts saw their trip to Dundee postponed at the weekend, whilst the visitors tasted defeat at the hands of Hearts.

We say: St Mirren 1-0 Motherwell

This is a difficult affair to call on Tuesday, with little between the two sides based on current form ahead of the encounter.

Were Motherwell at home, we would expect to see them triumph, but with their troubles on their travels of late being taken into account with St Mirren's strong form, we are predicting the hosts to edge out the visitors by a narrow margin.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
