Preview: Huddersfield Town vs. Millwall

Sports Mole previews Ian Holloway's first match in charge of Millwall as he takes the Lions to Yorkshire to face Huddersfield Town.

Ian Holloway will look to get his Millwall career off to a winning start when he takes his new side to the John Smith's Stadium to face Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Holloway was appointed as the Lions boss earlier this week, taking over a team that find themselves just a point and a place above the relegation zone in the Championship table.

The former Crystal Palace manager has a daunting task ahead of him, and his first priority will be to end the club's six-match winless streak that has seen them pick up just one point from the last 15 on offer in the league.

The London outfit were also humiliated by Southend United in the FA Cup on Saturday, losing 4-1 to the League Two side on their way out of the competition, while they have won just once on their travels all season.

Holloway could welcome Liam Trotter back into the starting lineup for his first game, but he will definitely be without Paul Connolly through injury.

Huddersfield, meanwhile, are just five points off the playoff places after a good festive period that saw them lose just once in their last five games.

Mark Robins's side saved themselves from being the victims of an FA Cup upset last weekend, coming from behind twice and scoring late to beat non-league Grimsby Town 3-2.

Huddersfield have only lost three games at home all season, although two of those defeats did come in their last five matches.

They have a number of injury concerns going into the match, with Peter Clarke, Jon Stead, Anthony Gerrard and James Vaughan all set for late tests to determine their fitness.
