Patrick Kluivert 'wants Huddersfield Town job'

Former Netherlands striker and assistant manager Patrick Kluivert reportedly expresses an interest in becoming the new manager of Huddersfield Town.

Patrick Kluivert has emerged as a surprise candidate to take over the vacant manager's job at Huddersfield Town after reportedly showing an interest in taking over the Terriers.

The 38-year-old, who scored the winning goal for Ajax in the 1995 Champions League final, was one of Louis van Gaal's assistants when the now Manchester United boss was in charge of the Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup.

According to The People, Kluivert is keen to follow his former coach to England, with Town owner Dean Hoyle set to line up meetings with a shortlist of candidates over the coming week.

However, it is thought that the likes of Tony Mowbray and Coventry City coach Steven Pressley are among the favourites for the post.

Huddersfield are searching for a new coach after sacking Mark Robins following a 4-0 home defeat to Bournemouth last weekend.
