Hull City midfielder Nick Barmby has emerged as a contender to take the soon-to-be vacant manager's job at the club.
With current boss Nigel Pearson tipped to be appointed the manager of Leicester City in the near future, 37-year-old Barmby is expected to be in charge on a temporary basis for Saturday's match with Derby County.
Manchester United reserve manager Warren Joyce has also been linked with taking over at the KC Stadium.
Should the Hull board opt for Joyce, Barmby could be handed a coaching role with the club.
Barmby joined Hull in 2004 from Leeds United.
