All square between Hull City, Cardiff City

Hull City and Cardiff City draw 1-1 at the KC Stadium this afternoon, with goals coming from Curtis Davies and Peter Whittingham.

Hull City and Cardiff City had to settle for a 1-1 draw at the KC Stadium, as a Peter Whittingham volley cancelled out a header from Curtis Davies.

The home side created the game's first chance but Danny Graham missed a sitter as he found space only to side-foot over from just 10 yards out.

Cardiff began to work their way into the game as Whittingham found Gary Medel, who could not get the ball under enough control to test Allan McGregor in the Hull goal.

Hull finally broke the deadlock in the 40th minute when Davies rose to meet Tom Huddlestone's ball and put his side 1-0 ahead.

However, Cardiff came out of the traps quickest after the break and soon equalised when Campbell and Don Cowie combined with Whittingham, leaving him free to volley home from six yards out.

Going into the final passage of the game Hull thought that they had taken the lead only to have a goal disallowed after Sone Aluko's header was judged to be offside.

Hull were to be given one more chance to grab victory, but Graham was wasteful again as he could not make the most of a decent headed chance.
