Brady penalty secures win for 10-man Hull City over Norwich City

Robbie Brady scores the only goal of the game from the penalty spot to earn 10-man Hull City their first win of the Premier League season against Norwich City.

A Robbie Brady penalty was enough to secure 10-man Hull City their first win of the Premier League season at the KC Stadium against Norwich City.

The Canaries almost took the lead in the third minute, when Steven Whittaker broke down the right and lifted a cross into the penalty area but debutant Leroy Fer could only head wide.

Chris Hughton's side were having the better of the early stages and Nathan Redmond almost broke the deadlock but his effort was denied by a fine save from Tigers keeper Allan McGregor.

Hull made Norwich pay for their missed changes when they were awarded a penalty when Michael Turner brought down Yannick Sagbo in the area and Robbie Brady fired his side into the lead from the spot.

Steve Bruce's side were then reduced to 10 men as Sagbo was sent off for an altercation off the ball for a reported headbutt on Bradley Johnson.

After the break, Jonny Howson thought he had got his side level when he did well to create an opening and fired a low shot at goal but he was denied by McGregor, who made a great low stop.

The Canaries were coming into the game more as they upped the ante and McGregor made another fine save, this time to stop Ricky van Wolfswinkel finding an equaliser as he tipped his goalbound header over the bar.

Norwich pushed for an equaliser late on but the Tigers held out for their first win of the season.
