Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku is "pleased" with the start that he has made to his career in Italy.

Romelu Lukaku has said that he is "pleased" with the start that he has made to his Inter Milan career but has vowed to continue improving in the coming months.

The Belgium international completed a move to Inter during the summer transfer window after being deemed surplus to requirements by Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Saturday's brace against Bologna means that that the 26-year-old has now scored nine times in 11 Serie A appearances for Antonio Conte's side.

Lukaku also revealed that he was delighted to net "a very important penalty" in the latter stages of the clash with the Red and Blues.

"This was a very important penalty, as we simply had to win today," Lukaku told Sky Sport Italia. "Bologna played with a lot of intensity and impressed me today, but we had a good team mentality and I'm happy.

"I'm pleased to have had such a good start, but I am 26 years old and I need to grow every day, along with the whole team."

Lukaku has managed six goals in his last four Serie A outings, while he netted 42 times in 96 games for United despite the criticism surrounding his playing style.
