Cole Skuse suffers back injury

A back injury is likely to keep Ipswich Town midfielder Cole Skuse sidelined for a short period of time.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has revealed that Cole Skuse suffered a back injury during last night's 4-2 win over Birmingham City.

The complaint forced the midfielder off during the first half of the contest at Portman Road.

However, although McCarthy is unsure as to how long the problem will keep the 28-year-old sidelined for, he does not anticipate a prolonged absence.

"His back went in to spasm. I have no idea how long he'll be out for. It could be a couple of days, it could be a week," he told the East Anglian Daily Times.

The victory over Birmingham lifted McCarthy's men up to third in the Championship standings.
