Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has hailed the performance that Freddie Sears put in during yesterday's 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Portman Road.
The striker drew Ipswich level in the 21st minute when he captialised on a defensive error, before he went on to play in a wide role during the second half.
Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times after the final whistle, McCarthy described 25-year-old Sears as "outstanding".
"I thought he was outstanding. Do you know what's lovely about it is that he went and played wide right, got into shape in two banks of four, and there was never any question - he just went and did it. He is a constant threat. I thought he was fantastic," he said.
Sears joined Ipswich from Colchester United back in January.
