Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham signs a one-month loan deal with Ipswich Town.

Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham has joined Ipswich Town on a one-month loan deal.

The 33-year-old has signed for the Tractor Boys in time to be included in their squad for Saturday's Championship encounter with Charlton Athletic at Portman Road.

"We have been trying to add to our options at the back for a while and Danny has been on our radar through the summer," Town boss Paul Jewell told the club's official website.

"He will bring a wealth of experience to the squad and we're obviously delighted to have him with us."

Higginbotham has not featured for Stoke in their opening four games of the Premier League season.
