How Juventus could line up against Atletico Madrid

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up in Tuesday's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

Juventus will look to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit when they welcome Atletico Madrid to Turin for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.

Juve have reached the final twice in the past five seasons – losing to Barcelona and Real Madrid – but have not won the European Cup since 1996.

The Old Lady currently have a 18-point lead at the top of Serie A, but it would be fair to say that the Champions League is the trophy that they really want to win this season.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri had the luxury of resting a number of his first-team players for Friday's Serie A clash with Udinese – which ended 4-1 – but the big-hitters will be back for the European tie.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Juve could line up in what is easily their biggest game of the campaign thus far.

POSS JUVE XI vs. ATL

Out: Juan Cuadrado (knee), Sami Khedira (heart), Alex Sandro (suspension)
Doubtful: Douglas Costa (hamstring)

Juve will definitely once again be without the services of Juan Cuadrado and Sami Khedira, with the former still recovering from knee surgery and the latter not yet available as he builds back to fitness following a heart procedure.

Alex Sandro is suspended, meanwhile, which is expected to see Joao Cancelo start at right-back and Mattia De Sciglio feature on the left side of defence.

Douglas Costa is back in training following a hamstring problem, but the Brazilian has not played since the start of February and it seems more likely that he will be on the bench rather than thrown straight into the XI.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Mario Mandzukic, Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci will all return to the starting side having been left out against Udinese, while Paulo Dybala is also expected to get the nod in the final third of the field.

Emre Can could be the player to miss out in midfield, with Rodrigo Bentancur expected to start alongside Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi, but Allegri could easily spring a surprise in the key fixture.
