Juventus boss Antonio Conte plays down the rivalry between his side and Fiorentina ahead of their Serie A meeting on Saturday.

Juventus boss Antonio Conte has dismissed his team's rivalry with Fiorentina ahead of their Serie A clash on Saturday.

The two sides became rivals in 1982 when Juve snatched the title away from Fiorentina on the final day of the season, courtesy of a debatable penalty.

However, Conte has insisted that he has never felt as though there was a rivalry, claiming that it is the Fiorentina fans who create the antagonism.

"To be honest, I've never felt all this antagonism with Fiorentina when I was a player," said Conte. "We have a great respect for Fiorentina, but I think this antagonism is much more felt in Florence than here.

"Better not to think like that otherwise we will become provincial while we are a great team and we need to have the attitude of a great team.

"They can surely create some trouble to any team they face, not only to Juventus, but let's not become provincial talking about an antagonism with them."

Nicolas Anelka could make his debut for Juve following his January switch.
