Juventus held by Lazio in stalemate

Juventus cannot find a way past Lazio as the league leaders are forced to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Juventus and Lazio could not be seperated this evening as the visitors clung on to a 0-0 draw with the league leaders.

Kwadwo Asamoah almost gave the hosts the lead in the 16th minute when he fired goalwards, but Federico Marchetti was on hand to tip the ball over.

Sebastian Giovinco was next to go close for Juve, showcasing his silky skills twice in the space of a minute to create shooting opportunities, but on both occasions his shots went wide.

Marchetti kept the scores level with a fine save just after the hour mark, tipping Arturo Vidal's deflected effort from 25 yards over the crossbar.

Juventus continued to pour forward in search of an opening goal and they came within inches of finding it through Leonardo Bonucci, but his effort came back off the bar.

Lazio's defence resisted the intense pressure applied by the Juventus attack, however, as they clung on to claim a point.
