Matty Cash feels that Nottingham Forest are capable of edging out either Leeds United or West Bromwich Albion for a place in the Championship top two.

Matty Cash has acknowledged that Nottingham Forest still have ambitions to finish in the automatic promotion places in the Championship standings.

With just nine games remaining, Forest sit in fifth position, 10 points adrift of top two Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion.

However, should the season resume after the coronavirus pandemic, Cash feels that a prolonged winning run will put the East Midlands side back into contention.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, the right-sided player said: "We have got to take every game as it comes. If you win five in a row and Leeds and West Brom lose a couple then you are right in the frame again.

"Playoffs would be a great achievement from where we've been before. We have been nowhere near in the four or five years I have been here, but if we keep winning games you never know."

Cash has played a key part for Forest this campaign, contributing three goals and four assists from right-back.
