Massimo Cellino 'agrees with Leeds United fans over sale of club'

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino reportedly agrees with an advertising campaign launched by fans suggesting that it is time for him to sell the club.

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has reportedly agreed that it is time for him to sell the club amid protests from fans.

A supporters' group this week launched an advertising campaign outside Elland Road urging the Italian to sell his majority stake in the club following a tumultuous reign.

Advertising hoardings outside the East Stand of the stadium currently bear a cartoon picture of Cellino with quotes from him underneath and a heading of 'Time to go Massimo'.

The 59-year-old is currently away in Italy, but reports claim that, when asked for his comments on the campaign, Cellino responded to BBC Radio Leeds reporter Adam Pope: "I agree!"

Reports have also suggested that Leeds have taken legal action over the advert and have asked for it to be removed.

Leeds are next in action against Championship leaders Middlesbrough on Monday.
