Wolverhampton Wanderers have clinched the Championship title thanks to a 4-0 victory at Bolton Wanderers.

Barry Douglas, Benik Afobe, Diogo Jota and Conor Coady were all on the scoresheet as Wolves ran riot at the Macron Stadium to seal first place in the table.

Sunderland, meanwhile, have suffered their second successive relegation, dropping into League One due to a 2-1 home loss at the hands of Burton Albion.

The Brewers were a goal down with five minutes to play at the Stadium of Light after Paddy McNair's low first-half strike, but Darren Bent and Liam Boyce scored late on to bury the Black Cats.

At Ashton Gate, Bristol City and Hull City played out a thrilling 5-5 draw.

Harry Wilson scored a brace for the Tigers, while Abel Hernandez, Fraizer Campbell and a Frank Fielding own goal also contributed to the visitors' tally.

The Robins, meanwhile, saw Famara Diedhiou strike a double, with Marlon Pack and Bobby Reid also netting, and Joe Bryan scored in injury time for a share of the spoils.

Barnsley remain in the bottom three after suffering a 2-1 loss at Leeds United, but Birmingham City have moved five points clear of the dropzone with a 2-1 victory over Sheffield United.
