Neil Redfearn: 'We are heading in the right direction'

Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn feels that his side are starting to turn the corner following their second win in a row in the Championship.

Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn believes that his side are heading in the right direction following their 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town.

A late goal from Billy Sharp secured the three points for Redfearn's men, after Sam Byram's early strike was cancelled out by Harry Bunn.

The victory was United's second in a row and they now hold a four-game unbeaten run in the Championship, which Redfearn feels is an excellent sign of progress for his team.

He told reporters: "It was a great win because it sends out a message. It's a culmination of the four matches and is similar to when I was caretaker. We have two wins and two draws and we are going in the right direction.

"It wasn't a great game quality wise, but it was a classic derby with blood and guts. For the first 25 minutes we were the better side and dominated, but the second half was pretty even.

"Billy's goal at the end epitomised our togetherness and resoluteness. The players are showing the right reaction and talking to each other, and this has a good smell about it."

Leeds are now 19th in the Championship table, five points clear of the relegation zone.
