Preview: Leeds United vs. Bournemouth

Sports Mole gazes ahead to Tuesday night's Championship game at Elland Road as leaders Bournemouth travel to struggling Leeds United.

Bournemouth will go four points clear at the top of the Championship if they get the better of struggling Leeds United in Tuesday night's match at Elland Road.

Eddie Howe's side returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory at Rotherham United on Saturday after losing their 14-game unbeaten record the week before at home to Norwich City.

That puts them a point clear of Ipswich Town, who travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday, going into this week's staggered, FA Cup-hit fixture list.

Howe has no reason to tinker with his lineup, but may wish to recall Yann Kermorgant up front as the Cherries go in search of their 13th league win in 17 games.

While Bournemouth are setting the pace in the second tier, Leeds are floundering at the wrong end of the table following a seven-game unbeaten stretch in the league.

Neil Redfearn's side haven't won in any competition since they stunned high-flying Derby County at the end of November and a similarly surprising outcome is much needed tomorrow.

The club hasn't been helped by off-field ownership issues this season and it was announced earlier today that Massimo Cellino would have to relinquish his role as director of the club for evading tax in Italy.

On the pitch, Leeds have had two consecutive 1-1 draws in the league, with in-form Birmingham City held at Elland Road on Saturday.

Despite most of the above pointing to a confident away win, Leeds have an excellent recent record against the Cherries.

They have won all five previous home matches against Bournemouth in league competition, also coming from a goal down to win the reverse 3-1 back in September.

Bournemouth have been victorious in just one of the last 12 meetings against Leeds, but that was just 10 months ago when they cruised to a 4-1 win.
