Leeds United announce that they have parted ways with head coach Thomas Christiansen after just eight months in charge of the Championship club.

Leeds United have confirmed that they have parted ways with head coach Thomas Christiansen after eight months at the helm.

The Whites are in the middle of a seven-match winless run and have not yet claimed a victory this calendar year.

Leeds currently sit 10th in the Championship table having failed to win since Boxing Day and having lost 4-1 at home to Cardiff City on Saturday.

Christiansen, who formerly managed Cypriot side APOEL, also saw his team beaten in the FA Cup third round by League Two outfit Newport County.

"Leeds United can confirm that head coach Thomas Christiansen has left the club," a statement read.

"Chairman Andrea Radrizzani and the Board of Directors would like to thank Thomas and his staff for their hard work over the past eight months. The club will be making no further comment at this time."

Leeds will now be looking for their seventh manager since 2014.
