Leeds United reject West Ham United's Ross McCormack bid

Leeds United confirm that they have rejected an offer believed to be in the region of £3.5m from West Ham for the Championship's top goalscorer Ross McCormack.

Leeds United owner Salah Nooruddin has confirmed that the club have rebuffed West Ham United's offer for top goalscorer Ross McCormack.

Reports on Friday claimed that the Premier League strugglers had made an approach for McCormack after losing out on Lacina Traore to Everton.

Leeds turned down Middlesbrough's advances for the Scottish striker in the summer and have again emphasised their desire to keep him by rejecting West Ham's bid, believed to be in the region of £3.5m.

Nooruddin said on Twitter: "I'd like to reassure all #lufc fans that we're working hard for the club and can confirm we've rejected an offer from West Ham for Ross."

United manager director David Haigh added: "As a club we showed our intentions as far as Ross is concerned during the summer."

McCormack is the most prolific marksman in the Championship, scoring 17 goals in 26 games this season.
