Ricardo Pereira has suffered an injury setback this week which ruled him out of the recent Premier League fixture with Chelsea.

Ricardo Pereira has suffered a setback on his injury recovery, which will now lead to a further assessment.

The full-back was not part of the squad for Leicester City's recent Premier League fixture against Chelsea, and it has been confirmed that was down to an injury issue.

The Portuguese international has started 10 games so far this season for the Foxes, but he suffered a calf problem during the final training session prior to the game this week.

"He felt it yesterday (Friday) when he came in after training. But he has struggled really since he came back to get that rhythm and to get that continuity in his game, and it is frustrating him," Brendan Rodgers told BBC Radio Leicester.

"We will just have to wait to see what the scan says on that," Rodgers stated when asked about how long Pereira will be out of action.

Leicester City's next fixture takes place on Thursday night in the Europa League when they host Legia Warsaw.
