Claude Puel: 'Draw against Manchester United keeps belief going'

Claude Puel puts Leicester City's 2-2 draw against Manchester United down to the "positive attitude" shown by his players to fight right until the end.

Leicester City manager Claude Puel has insisted that his side's determination to rescue a 2-2 draw against Manchester United will only help to boost their confidence.

The Foxes, who saw a four-match winning run come to an end at the hands of Crystal Palace last week, earned a point in Saturday's late kickoff through a last-gasp Harry Maguire goal.

Puel's men had to do things the hard way, having let slip a one-goal lead and lost Daniel Amartey to two yellow cards, but the Frenchman was delighted with the way his players got themselves back on level terms.

"It was difficult but with our positive attitude we stayed in the game and believed in ourselves," he told Sky Sports News. "It's a good result for all of us because the belief keeps going.

"It's fantastic for the future. Now we know if that situation happen again we can score with 10 men against 11 so that's a good feeling for the future.

"The first yellow card for Daniel Amartey is a little rough but after that he needed to manage it better. He showed just a little naivety but came into the game with a lot of pressure.

"It was a strong game with intensity and it's not easy for him but now the main thing is we have a point. Perhaps we could have won it in some moments."

Leicester, who travel to Watford on Boxing Day, remain eighth in the Premier League table at the midway stage.
