Christian Fuchs "very happy" to open Leicester City account

Leicester City defender Christian Fuchs admits that he is "very happy" to score his debut goal for the Foxes.

Leicester City left-back Christian Fuchs has revealed that is "very happy" to have finally scored his debut goal for the club.

The 30-year-old, who joined the side in 2015, put the result beyond doubt with a fierce 25-yard volley in the closing stages of the Foxes' 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the King Power Stadium.

The champions made a shaky start to their title defence this season but have now edged closer to the top half of the table with victory over Alan Pardew's charges.

"It took me a while to get my first goal for Leicester but I'm very happy it found the back of the net," Fuchs told reporters afterwards. "We are a little bit disappointed we didn't get the clean sheet but Crystal Palace applied lots of pressure. There were a couple of good goals so overall we are very happy.

"Our past few home performances have been positive and I think we are in a good way - we are really enjoying the winning streak in the Champions League too.

"We aren't thinking about last season - just focussing on the games ahead and taking each one as it comes."

Leicester next face a tough trip to high-flying Tottenham Hotspur next Saturday.
