Christian Fuchs signs new Leicester City deal until June 2019

Christian Fuchs signs a new deal until June 2019 at Leicester City.

Leicester City have announced that Christian Fuchs has signed a new deal until June 2019.

The 30-year-old left-back was a key component in the Foxes' historic Premier League title triumph last season following his move from Schalke 04 in 2015.

Fuchs has racked up 45 appearances for Leicester, starting every league and Champions League fixture under manager Claudio Ranieri this season.

"I'm happy. I'm committed to the club," Fuchs told LCFC TV. "We had a great last season and we've also done well so far this season in the Champions League.

"I'm happy here and I've had the best time of my career so far here. My name is the Austrian Fox and now I'm staying with the English Foxes.

"Nobody expected what we achieved so far and I think there's still a lot to come. We built a good foundation and I think we can aim for more. It's a lot of fun being here and it's amazing with the fans. Them and the club itself just makes me feel so happy to be here."

Leicester have struggled to match last season's league form having won just two of their eight matches of the campaign so far, which has left them 13th in the table.

In contrast, the club have won all three of their Champions League group games and require just one more win to qualify for the last-16 stage.
