Nigel Pearson: 'Win looked unlikely'

Nigel Pearson praises his Leicester City side after seeing them fight back to beat West Bromwich Albion, but admits that a Foxes win looked unlikely early on.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has praised his side following their dramatic 3-2 win over West Bromwich Albion, but conceded that the win had looked unlikely given their poor start.

The Foxes were behind inside the opening 10 minutes, but fought back and wrapped up all three points with Jamie Vardy's goal deep into second-half injury time.

"The way we started it looked an unlikely outcome. To be fair to the players, in the second half, we showed a lot more quality. We deserved three points, because we never stopped believing we could get something from the game," Pearson told BBC Sport.

"We still have a lot of work to do, but back-to-back wins are very important now and we have to make it three now. We had to try and force the issue late on and Jamie Vardy took the chance late on after we put on that pressure."

Despite recording back-to-back Premier League victories, Pearson's side remain bottom of the table with seven games of their season to play.
