Nigel Pearson: Everton draw "feels like a defeat"

Nigel Pearson believes that Leicester City will pick up more victories between now and the end of the season if they can replicate their showing against Everton.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has admitted that this afternoon's 2-2 draw at Everton feels like two points dropped in his side's push for Premier League survival.

The Foxes battled back from behind at Goodison Park and found themselves ahead with just two minutes left to play, but an unfortunate own goal from Matthew Upson saw the spoils shared on Merseyside.

A point lifts Leicester up to 18 for the season, leaving them four points from safety with games fast running out.

Speaking after the match, Pearson is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "It feels like a defeat at moment because their equaliser came so late but we forced the issue right to the end.

"We frustrated Everton and their fans to a certain extent as we played with a lot of discipline and we looked dangerous. What's needed is more wins and we will get them if we perform to that standard.

"We have put in some good performances that have not yielded the points. It was important for us to have a positive response with the substitutions. It was about getting fresh legs on there."

Leicester will be looking to push on from today's performance when they take on champions Manchester City next weekend.
