Jamie Vardy in line for surprise England call-up?

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is in contention for a call-up to Roy Hodgson's England squad, according to a report.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is reportedly in contention for a call-up to the England squad following his fine form for the Foxes.

The 28-year-old has helped to spearhead Leicester's revival at the foot of the Premier League table, with the Foxes moving out of the bottom three courtesy of six wins in seven matches.

Vardy has netted three goals in his last eight games and set up Riyad Mahrez's second goal in the 2-0 win over Southampton on Saturday.

England boss Roy Hodgson was in the stands at the King Power Stadium at the weekend to watch the match.

According to the Daily Mail, Vardy is now in line for a place in the Three Lions squad for the June internationals against the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia.

The former Fleetwood Town man has made 34 appearances for Leicester this term.
