Brendan Rodgers not thinking about Champions League clash against Real Madrid

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that he isn't thinking about next week's Champions League match against Real Madrid due to this Sunday's QPR clash.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that next week's Champions League clash against Real Madrid is not in his mind yet as they prepare to play three games in one week.

The Merseyside outfit will play Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Sunday before welcoming the European champions to Anfield on Wednesday and then facing Hull City on home turf the following Saturday.

The additional games could be a contributing factor to Liverpool's injury list, which has included Daniel Sturridge, Joe Allen, Glen Johnson, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic.

"The best players cannot play every single game at the very top," Rodgers told reporters. "You can break young players and at the age of 26, 27 their careers will be over. Every individual player is different but the number of injuries don't surprise me.

"Our most important game is the next game, and that's QPR. I'll have to look at it but if I want to go with the same team against Real Madrid, I think I can. We won't think about Real until after Sunday's match."

Liverpool have acquired 10 points from a possible 21 in the Premier League so far this season.
