Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Porto in Group B.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ought to make a few alterations for Tuesday night's Champions League trip to Porto in Group B.

The Reds are expected to make do without Thiago Alcantara until after the next international break, while Harvey Elliott is now on the long road to recovery following ankle surgery, but Naby Keita is now back in training.

Trent Alexander-Arnold recovered from illness in time to start against Brentford but has reportedly not made the journey, while Kostas Tsimikas may come in for Andy Robertson on the opposite side.

The Reds should certainly shuffle the pack in defence with Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate both waiting in the wings, and Virgil van Dijk may be protected for the weekend's clash with Manchester City as Konate partners Joel Matip.

Fabinho and Jordan Henderson - the match-winner against AC Milan on the opening day - seem set to reprise their roles in midfield, while Curtis Jones could fend off competition from James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the final spot in the triumvirate.

Klopp will still rely on some of his big-hitters against an outfit as defensively resilient as Porto, with Mohamed Salah - who bagged his 100th Premier League goal for the club at the weekend - likely to continue on the right.

However, Roberto Firmino's return to fitness could see him displace Diogo Jota up top, while Takumi Minamino has a strong chance of starting over Sadio Mane at the Estadio do Dragao.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Gomez, Matip, Konate, Tsimikas; Henderson, Fabinho, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Minamino
