Liverpool chiefs John W Henry and Tom Werner miss Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Everton in order to watch the Boston Red Sox.

Liverpool owner John W Henry and chief executive Tom Werner are to miss Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Everton in order to watch the Boston Red Sox.

The duo visited Merseyside on Thursday as director of football Damien Comolli left the club "by mutual consent".

Dr Peter Brukner, the Head of Sports Medicine & Science, departed Anfield on the same day.

However, Werner later insisted that Kenny Dalglish's position of manager was not at risk.

The Red Sox, who have lost four of their five opening matches of the season, host the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway Park.
