Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Premier League leaders Liverpool will look to take another step towards a first title in 30 years when they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp's side have amassed 37 points from a possible 39 so far this term to build an eight-point lead at the top of the table, and they will be overwhelming favourites to continue that form against a Brighton side that has lost their last two games.

However, the Reds were not at their best during a 1-1 draw with Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night - a result which ended a 17-match winning streak in front of their own fans.

Possible return date: Unknown

Fabinho picked up an ankle injury during Wednesday's draw with Napoli which forced him off after just 19 minutes, having initially tried to continue. Scans revealed that he is likely to miss the rest of the year as sustaining ligament damage, although the Brazilian was certain to miss this weekend's game anyway due to suspension.



Joel Matip

Possible return date: Unknown

Joel Matip's ongoing knee problem has proved to be more serious than first feared, with the centre-back still not back in training and no timescale being set for his return.

Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: November 30 (vs. Brighton)

Naby Keita missed the midweek outing due to illness, but that was only a precaution and the midfielder is fully expected to be available for Brighton's visit.



Nathaniel Clyne

Nathaniel Clyne remains sidelined by the knee ligament injury he sustained during pre-season and will not be seen until next year at the earliest.
