Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Nottingham Forest

Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

On the hunt for a third successive win in all tournaments, Liverpool welcome Nottingham Forest to Anfield for Saturday's Premier League encounter.

Jurgen Klopp's side maintained their perfect start to Europa League Group E on Thursday night, pummelling Toulouse 5-1 courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah, Wataru Endo, Diogo Jota, Ryan Gravenberch and Darwin Nunez.

The Reds' thumping of the Coupe de France winners came on the back of a 2-0 Merseyside derby success over Everton, which leaves Liverpool fourth in the table with 20 points to their name.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the visit of Nottingham Forest, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Luton Town last weekend.

Andrew Robertson

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: January 1 (vs. Newcastle United)

First-choice left-back Andrew Robertson recently underwent surgery to correct a dislocated shoulder, which he sustained while playing for Scotland this month, and the 29-year-old is not expected to play again for the remainder of 2023.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: December 3 (vs. Fulham)

Thiago Alcantara has now suffered a pair of setbacks on the hip injury which has plagued him since April, and the Spaniard is unlikely to be seen on the field for another few weeks yet.

Stefan Bajcetic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: November 1 (vs. Bournemouth)

Immediately after battling back from his season-ending adductor problem, Stefan Bajcetic re-entered the treatment room with a "tiny" calf problem, which has been severe enough to keep him out of action for the past few weeks, but there is hope that he might be able to return for next week's EFL Cup meeting with Bournemouth.

Ben Doak

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: October 29 (vs. Forest)

Ben Doak came back from Scotland Under-21 duty with a small muscular issue and has not been available for the Reds' wins over Everton or Toulouse, making the teenager a major doubt for the visit of Forest too.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Curtis Jones

Return date: November 1 (vs. Bournemouth)

Owing to his crunching challenge on Tottenham Hotspur's Yves Bissouma last month - which was upgraded from a yellow to a red card upon review - Curtis Jones must serve the third and final game of his domestic suspension this weekend.
