Jordan Henderson is "surprised" that it has been 15 years since Liverpool played at Wembley.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has admitted that he is "surprised" that it has been more than fifteen years since the Reds competed at Wembley.

The Merseyside club are two games away of reaching the London stadium after learning that Manchester City will be their semi-final opponents in the Carling Cup.

"I'm surprised it's been so long. I didn't know that" the Daily Star quotes Henderson as saying. "For such a big club like Liverpool, you'd have thought we'd have been at Wembley since then.

"But I'm sure it won't be long before we're at Wembley again. We've got a two-leg tie to come and it won't be easy. But if we put in the right attitude and commitment into the game then I'm sure we can come away with good results."

A Championship side will definitely be in the final of the domestic competition as Cardiff City and Crystal Palace were drawn for the second semi-final.
